Step into our school and you will see happy, active children who take responsibility, enjoy their learning and are proud of all they achieve and do. Take time to talk to them and they will enthuse about learning being challenging but fun, how trips out or visiting experts bring learning to life and how they are leading their own learning.
They discuss with confidence the work of the Eco-school club and School Council making their school and the world they live in a better place. They talk excitedly about their use of ICT and technology helping them to learn both in school and at home. They will share with you everything in which they are involved – choir, recorders, tag-rugby, athletics, high 5s, football, gymnastics, drama, highland dancing, dance, to name a few; the list is exhausting!
Our children achieve very high academic standards, (well above the National average at all levels), as a result of the dedication and enthusiasm of staff who provide an enriching, nurturing environment through a broad ranging and active curriculum. Time is invested in building individual strengths and providing targeted support when children need it, whatever their starting point. All they become involved in and engaged with ensures our children make exceptional progress in all areas of the curriculum and leave Rush Common with a sense of responsibility as well as respect and consideration for themselves, others around them and the world in which we live. This prepares the children well for life in secondary school.
